Statement
Recovering Addict (Upstate NY) with handwritten autobiography
2024
archival digital photograph
22" x 36"

"I'm Iolena Williams. I'm Puerto Rican, white and black. I grew up in Rochester, NY. I've lived here all my life. My addiction started at a young age of 13. I started by going to parties and experiencing, and some drugs stuck to me. I've been in and out of hospitals, rehab, and jails, and the last time I knew I needed to change something.

After Liberty Manor, I hope to go to supported living. My interests are crocheting and reading. My strengths are helping people."
