"I've learned that the saying, "you can look into someone's eyes to see their soul", isn't necessarily true. Before the pandemic, I was pretty adept at looking behind the masks others put on to hide their true feelings. I'd find clues in the purse of their lips, the position of their cheekbones, the tension in their faces, the lines in their skin, the height of their brow. now, much of that is hidden behind masks. I can see only their eyes. Conventional wisdom would suggest that the focus on their eyes would make it easier to see their souls. It does not.
